Our Ministries

Rising Church – a community of believers doing anything we can to love and serve our community of Leesburg.

Kids on the Rise

Kids Ministry

Our Kids Ministry Team does a great job loving on and ministering to children every Sunday. Our infants and toddlers are cared for through our entire Sunday morning worship gathering. These precious little ones can be dropped off 10 minutes prior to our worship service beginning.

Our elementary-school-aged children join us for our opening worship set so they can spend a few moments worshiping with their families. They head off to our Kids Ministry following our opening time of worship. They spend their time together studying through the Gospel Project, a 3-year curriculum that is a Christ-centered, chronological study through the entire Bible (Genesis-Revelation) with a missional focus that helps them live out their faith. In addition to their Sunday morning study they are sent home with activity pages to do with their families that will reinforce what they are learning on Sunday mornings.

Outreach Ministry

#loveLeesburg began as an annual event. We wanted to build into the DNA of our church plant the value of serving so we dedicated one weekend out of the summer as a service project day. Instead of gathering to worship as a church we would scatter to serve as a church. That first year we hosted a Back to School Block Party on Saturday providing school supplies for over 100 students. On Sunday morning we went out and made visits at a local nursing home, did landscaping at the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter admin offices, and picked up trash and prayed with people in one of our low-income housing areas. We have hosted 3 annual #loveLeesburg weekends expanding the scope and volume of what we do each year.

It didn’t take long for #loveLeesburg to begin more than just a serving weekend. It saturated our church culture and has taken on several forms and functions. Each summer we host multiple VBS day camps and sports camps in our communities. Our block party outreaches have morphed into “Picnics in the Park” that we hosted every other weekend this past summer into early fall. We grill hot dogs and provided drinks, setup our moon bounce, play corn hole and football, blast the music, and make an incredible evening out of it. We also partner with Tree of Life Ministries here in Leesburg and provide their community dinner for their ESL classes once-a-month.

Changing Our Schools

Student Ministry

Our middle school and high school students are an integral part of our church family. They share community together on Sunday nights meeting together for Bible study, prayer, games, and food. We are intentional to have them meet off of Sunday mornings because we want them to be a part of the worship gathering of our church body. In fact, our students aren’t just expected to attend but they are encouraged to serve on one of our Sunday morning ministry teams.

While meeting weekly provides our students with a regular opportunity to do life together they also prioritize special activities and events. One of the highlights of their year is heading off to summer camp together. This past summer they attended Mission-Fuge in Philadelphia, PA spending a week serving in various ministry capacities.

Our students are also living out their faith on their school campuses. They all showed up and took a stand together at this year’s See You At the Pole at Tuscarora High School. In fact, 8 of the 35 students that gathered on their campus were from our Student Ministry.

Church & Community

Small Groups

Life was meant to be lived in community – not alone. Our small groups provide accountability encouragement, and opportunities for outreach. They are a great way to share in community with other believers in our congregation.

We will be resuming our weekly small group ministry after the Christmas season. Our Leesburg small group will be meeting on Friday evenings at 6pm starting Friday, January 12th. We will share a meal, spend time studying the Word, and praying for each other.

Making Much of Jesus

Worship Arts Ministry

The heart of our worship ministry is just that, “Making Much of Jesus!” Everything we do is for His glory and honor and our desire on Sunday mornings is to make sure the focus is completely on Him as we participate in corporate worship. Our worship is passionate, contemporary, and participatory.

All 6 Continents

International Missions

God has given us a vision of planting at least one new church on all 6 inhabitable continents around the world: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. We want each of those international church plants to have the same goal in mind. So our future church plant in Asia would turn around and plant churches in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. What this means is that in order for us to see this vision realized we will need to plant 43 churches (counting us) world-wide. That is a God-sized vision and one that might seem outrageous to many people in light of the fact that we are only a 3-year-old church plant.

However, God has already proven to be faithful to this vision. The spring before we launched our public worship services Matt & Shelby Meyer joined our congregation. They were already following God’s leading to serve overseas. They spent the next 2 years serving in our church family which blessed us tremendously and played a part in preparing them for church planting overseas. In April of 2017 we had the honor of sending Matt & Shelby to Poland and already, in the fall of 2017, they were part of the team that planted a church in Krakow, Poland. We’re just a few years old as a church ourselves and God has already allowed us to have a hand in planting our first church! Now, we are exploring options of sending a short-term mission team to Krakow, Poland sometime in 2018.
